Macs are very popular with consumers and with artsy types, but the business world still uses Windows. Forex trading is no exception.

Most of the forex trading software is written for Windows. If you have a Mac, you may feel neglected. Is there a way around this problem?

Yes, there is. You actually have three options. I'll outline them all, and you can do what you want.

First of all, the most popular trading platform in the world is MetaTrader4. This is a Windows application, but you can get it running on a Mac if you play around with it long enough. You either dual-boot Windows or try to get it running on one of the various Windows emulators for the Mac. This is beyond the scope of this article.

You can also use most of the web-based trading applications, because almost all of them are written in Java. Java is a cross-platform language. It works on Windows and Mac, so you'll have no problems using these applications. This might be your best bet if you find one you like.

Another option is installing a computer program on your broker's computer, and let it trade for you. These programs are called expert advisors or robots, and they will run on your broker's computer. Then all you have to do is check the results every once in awhile.

You don't need anything fancy to do this, and your Mac can, of course, easily handle this task.

There are many of these robots available. You just have to do some research, and find one that will work for you.

Whatever option you choose, just remember that it may be a pain, but you'll only have to set it up once. After that, you can trade on your Mac as much as you like, and you shouldn't have any problems. There is plenty of forex trading software for Mac if you look for it.
